Sometimes your dog can get slightly smelly, especially when it rains or if it's been a long time since its last visit to the hairdresser. During these times, it's normal for us owners to try and get hold of a perfume for them.

What do you need?
Making a dog perfume at home is really easy and simple. Remember that you shouldn't use alcohol or substances that could irritate its skin. Firstly, you'll need to acquire all the necessary products to make the homemade dog perfume:
- Distilled water
- Glycerin
- A lemon
- Apple cider vinegar
- Mint
What are each of these ingredients for?
Distilled water acts as the base of the product, in the same way that alcohol works in human perfume. Glycerin binds and gives body to the solution while apple cider vinegar, always in a very small proportion, will make your dog's coat nice and shiny.
The other products, such as lemon or mint, were chosen for their refreshing effect on your pet - feel free to choose your own combination. You could use mint alone, or replace the lemon with an orange or lavender or almond oil.

How to make perfume for dogs:
To make your homemade dog perfume you need to gather all the above items and go to the kitchen, and then follow these steps:
- Boil the distilled water over a low heat in a pan. You can choose how much - if you want the perfume to be gentle, use lots of water.
- Add sliced lemon and chopped mint.
- Leave it to boil over a low heat for at least an hour and a half.
- Once this time has passed, you should completely strain the liquid from the pan to remove any remaining mint or lemon.
- Add the glycerin and two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar. Be careful not to overdo it with the vinegar or it will smell too strong.
- Let it stand at room temperature until it cools.
- Use a difusor container to store the mixture.
- It's ready!
