Water

Water is the only natural product that is absolutely essential for bathing your dog. This, of course, sounds quite obvious, but there is something more to it. The water temperature conditions must be neither cool nor too warm for your dog. The ideal temperature to bathe your dog in is between 37 and 38° C (98 to 100º F).

You must be aware that water is not harmless. If you pour it inside your dog's ears, it can produce very painful problems that can become serious.

Apple cider vinegar

The disinfectant properties of vinegar are very well known. Of all kinds of vinegar, apple cider vinegar is the softest and least aromatic and it has many properties for the hair and skin.

Gentle friction with apple cider vinegar on the dermis and hair of your dog is an excellent disinfectant, and it also kills off any strong smells. After applying it, you will have to thoroughly rinse your dog's fur. Remember that it is imperative to dry your dog thoroughly after its bath.

Kaolin

Kaolin or white clay is a material that comes from feldspar rocks. This natural product can be found in many pharmacies in its powder form.

This material is commonly used for cosmetic masks. Clay has many properties, but for the subject at hand we highlight the main ones:

  • Clay is highly hygroscopic, that is, it is able to absorb a lot of water.
  • It is neither toxic nor abrasive.
  • It is soft to the touch.
  • It is odorless
  • It disperses easily, which means it has a great covering and absorbing power.

Kaolin can be mixed with plenty of fluids. When mixed with lemon juice and water, it creates a cleansing and astringent mask. If mixed with olive or rose hip oil, you will get an emollient mask.

Therefore, it is very easy to apply disinfectant, regenerative and soothing masks halfway through our dog's bath. These masks are dried in a few minutes, and they nourish the fur, hair and the dermis of the dog. They dissolve very easily with a rinse, taking away impurities and dead cells.

Rose hip oil

Rose hip oil is very expensive, and is used for skin and hair care, as well as to treat lacerations, among many other beneficial uses.

This oil is ideal as a natural remedy to remove the coppery spots that form around the dog's eyes as a result of bacterial action. It can be applied directly or together with a kaolin mask. If applied directly, do no rinse it away with water. Take caution so that it goes not get inside the dog's eyes.

Argan oil

Argan oil is a regenerating, moisturizing and nutrient rich fluid. Basically, it's very powerful. It penetrates deep into the dermis and regenerates and nourishes the different dermal layers. Due to its power and price, it should be used only on occasion.

Thanks to its healing effects, argan oil is optimal to apply on bites, wounds and abrasions in the skin of your dog. Moreover, it will leave its coat bright and beautiful.
