The Siberian husky is one of the oldest dog breeds in the world, so it has a somewhat independent temperament. One cannot forget that in a land with such adverse conditions such as Siberia, only the strongest and most prepared specimens manage to survive.

Huskies have an incredibly unique personality. Within their family nucleus, they are extremely loyal, affectionate and docile, able to adapt to different types of people and families. In addition, they tend to be quite social and, if they receive adequate socialization training, they can get along very well with other dogs and animals.

We will be discussing which Husky dog characteristics demand the most attention and care. These following points are incredibly important to consider before adopting a Husky dog. If you cannot provide your husky with these following needs, you could jeopardize your Husky’s health and well-being.

1. Husky exercise: requirements

Huskies need A LOT of exercise! The Siberian Husky is a very active dog that requires a good amount of daily exercise. This exercise allows your Husky can expel energy, maintain a healthy weight and sustain a balanced temperament. Siberian Huskies are also incredibly fun dogs that enjoy family outings and adventures.

So, why would this be one of the disadvantages of Siberian Huskies? This is because it is a responsibility that one has to consider before adopting a Siberian Husky. Huskies need to be walked at LEAST 3 times a day, in addition to practicing canine sports. 2. Husky shedding: coat care

For those people who do not have a lot of free time, the care that a husky’s abundant mantle requires may be a disadvantage. When it comes to husky coat maintenance, their coats need to be brushed daily with a card brush.

In addition, it’s important to know that Husky’s shed their undercoat twice a year (double molting). In these periods, your Husky dog will lose a little more hair than usual, so brushing should increase to two daily brushes. 4. How much attention do Huskies need?

A LOT! While independence is an important feature of their temperament, Husky dogs do not adapt well to loneliness. As we mentioned, the Siberian husky used to shelter women and children, spending long hours in the company of humans.

Therefore, Huskies adapt optimally to family routine and love the company of their tutors. Huskies need a lot of attention. If these dogs do not receive the necessary care and affection, they can suffer from stress, loneliness and separation anxiety.
