1. Make sure you're not there

3. They eat

The snack will distract them for a good length of time and keep them well hydrated.
4. They look out the window or go for a walk

After spending several hours alone, cats get bored. Remember that, even if they are said to be very independent, cats are social animals and need to communicate with people and animals, in order to be happy and healthy.
If your cat spends many hours alone, it might be a good idea to adopt a second feline, but you can also bet on food dispensing toys or intelligence toys, which will help you spend solitude better.
8. They welcome you home!
Some cats can't stop meowing when we get home, as a welcome, others rub against us to plant their smell on us (again) and some don't even flinch!
We might think that this behavior will depend on the good relationship they have with their human, but the fact is that each cat acts in a particular way. They're not like dogs, who come running to greet us almost every time, cats are much more peculiar!
