Cats are loving and loyal animals, even if many people believe them to be quite independent animals. Cats are very intelligent, and it won't take them more than 5 to 10 days to understand and internalize their new name.

- Find a creative name that you actually love, and be sure it fits your particular cat. Not all orange cats are Garfields, after all.
- Use your cat's name gently and lovingly so they learn it as a positive word.
- Don't choose a name that's too long or complicated, since your cat will have a hard time understanding you.
- Don't use a name that can be easily confused with other words from your vocabulary.
- During the first days, repeat the name when you interact with your cat.
