Australian Mist

When they are still a kitten, Australian mists seem to be very robust cats. But, over time their constitution is refined to compensate their structure, like that of a normal cat. They are medium-sized cats with short hair so they do not require daily brushing. They have lovely sweet faces that highlight their large eyes and ears. Their weight is around 3 to 6 kilograms.

The Australian mist presents different colors like brown, golden, gray and dark colors. Their coat always shows small specks called 'mist' on the whole mantle, characteristic of the breed. And their life expectancy - if you are careful - can reach the age of 15.

The Australian mist is very tolerant of their close relatives and stands out for being a cat that adapts to small spaces, without showing anxiety or discomfort. They are usually playful cats, kind, friendly and not at all petty. They enjoy the company and attention of the people around them: they are grateful and sweet cats.

When sterilized, they generally have better relationships with other pets, no matter if they are cats or dogs.

Excessive maintenance is not a necessity for this breed as they are relatively clean and only need occasional brushing. In addition to their basic needs, we must visit the vet at least once a year and keep their external and internal deworming up to date.

Some health problems that may affect this breed are: urinary tract disease, eye problems and tapeworms. These are easily detected and treated with regular visits to the specialist. With this said, we can affirm the Australian mist is a rather healthy specimen.
