Balinese

As we can see the Balinese is a stylized cat following the style of the Siamese although they have a thick coat of hair. We they come in all basic colors including white, blue or chocolate.

Their regal appearance makes them different from other breeds of cat. Although they appear thin and weak, they have strong and long legs that allow them to exercise actively throughout the day.

We pay special attention to their triangular head, similar to that of the Oriental shorthair. They are equipped with two big and pointed ears that give them a surprised and alert expression. Their eyes are usually a deep, vivid blue.

This cat is very loyal to their master that they may even ignore other members of their family. Their behavior is very affectionate, sweet and friendly with whoever cares, grooms and feeds them!

The Balinese cat usually gets along well with children as this breed is very playful and active and will not hesitate to spend time chasing dusters, toy rats and other items. They will like to call for your attention and pretty much anyone in the room as they are eccentric cats that hate to go unnoticed.

We emphasize their predisposition to "speak" - the Balinese has a very elegant meow and different from other cats that we know. You should be clear that you will have to devote a lot of your time to communicating with them.

They have a strong personality that sometimes prevents them from living with other cats in the same household. This is because of their egocentric nature, they love to be pampered and treated like a king or queen.

The care of the Balinese cat is not different from that of another pet. To maintain their perfect state of health you will just have to take them for regular vet visits, deworm when appropriate and provide some basic elements inside the home, such as: a drinking fountain, a soft bed, a litter box, a scratching post and toys.

It is important that you brush their long coat at least twice a week in order to prevent it from becoming tangled, from dirt building up and knots forming. During the molting period, their hair should be brushed daily.

Since the Balinese cat descends from the Siamese, these cats can suffer strabismus, an alteration of the optic nerve and nystagmus, which involves rapid forward and backwards movements of the eye. Otherwise, if you vaccinate your cat and take them to the vet as often as needed, you will not have any problem.
